It is with sincere regret that today I annouce the retirement of "Mad Max", my 1982 XJ 750 (Seca). Max served me faithfully and inexpensively as my "training wheels". I have a stack of photos and my first bike really will occupy a place in my heart. Max was FUN, a little scary and a great teacher. Those inline 4's are absolutely bullet-proof. I'd recommend one as a learner any day. Since an incredible deal fell into my lap, I decided to remove the training wheels a little early. I'd love to keep him, but I just don't have the room. A Sale ad will be in the For Sale section shortly. I won't part him out, and I ask that you don't either.

Without further ado, I introduce Max's successor, the "Hammer".

I second DW's opinion. I think Yamaha must have gotten a great deal from Kenworth on some old exhausts. Different pipe and I like the bike.

IF you put a damn square headlight on that bike I will personally drive to maryland and hunt you down. We all know round is better than square :p

    It's a beautiful bike!

Improve your mileage by 10mpg - get rid of 100 lbs of excess weight by replacing that grotesque muffler.

Looks like a pretty ride - not sure I'd ever want a 2 cyl though. I like the smoothness of a 4 ...

Nice looking bike. But won't you miss, neighbors complaining because you are tuning your bike, being hassled by cops while you try to pull across the street to tune your XJ, etc.? Think of all of those memories.

Maybe you can give your XJ to one of the kiddo's. Yea, that's the ticket. Keep it in the family.

Seriously... Hope you enjoy the new ride.
