By new ones or coat them in rtv or use electric waterproof stretch tape or any number of treatments that have been posted here.

would you post a photo when your done?
am i correct in assuming that by turned down you mean you turned them down (dia. and length) on a lathe?

Yes you bet ... the aluminum pieces inside the rubber is about 1/2 flange roughly (i just eye balled it lol ) it has a 1 5/8 od dia . The carbs are about 1 3/8 od dia so i picked up 2 different couplers one for a 1 5/8 to 2 inch to adapte cbr 1000 itbs for efi and 1 3/8 couplers for stock carbs ... im going to make another set later for efi if these work out. The turning down part is for i can get a 1 3/8 coupler to fit on a 1 5/8 tube the tube is fairly thick and the inside is a good size to flow ...

I found pictures of what looks like SR20DET. Red top too! Yummy. Wasn't a whole lot of xj intake though... Wanna see finished product, both intake boots and Sylvia!

That's actually just the stock Ka in my Nissan I done sold all that though you can see old pictures of when I try to put an xj750 on a Sprint Kart but I just started the intake today I have yet to weld this but this is pretty much a finished product minus the weld my works welder there was taking a shit today. I also was only able to complete one because of the time frame I had took me about 30 to 40 minutes to produce this pretty straightforward from there you get a silicone coupler of an inch and 3/8 and you couple the carburetor to it I'm also going to be making some for EFI if I eventually I just want to ride my bike already
