Ever wonder what a drop kicked FULL tank looks like?
I dropped it on the way to the work bench.
    Tripped on my air hose!!!

This is a photoshop of what was going to be my summer project.

awww crap, last weekend I caught my tank as it was slipping off of my running sync bench (garbage can with a board across the top)... good luck with the repairs, the rest of her looks pretty sweet!

Wow thats too bad, the paint looks great on that bike. Its a fairly easy fix though if you can paint and do bodywork.

LoL.. I know what a drop kicked tank looks like.. Thanks to my dog.. I was just leaving the final clearcoat to harden when he came bounding in, and the next thing I knew, there was a big dent in the tank, a VERY unhappy looking dog, and me looking for the paint stripper..

    I feel for you! :)

I’m going to have to “plead the 5th” on the Vmax ride
IT IS very quick and fast but will shake its head @120+!

Its reputation for quick is a little dated, an R1 would kill me heck with a good launch a R6 could catch it in the ¼.
BUT it’s still great especially with my wife on the back.

just a little work and your vmax is a real hand full put a kerker header and took it to performance shop the did some air box mods and installed a full jet kit air jets even had slide springs . took a bunch of dyno runs and tuning but picked up 20 horse and 15 ft lbs torque makes it a real beast love the 60 mph roll ons with it thats what i miss about mine .

xjr is nice does everything better in stk form but when you add 20% more power like my max had its like flipping a switch. granted it was only good in a stright line but there isnt a bike out there that sounded better i never drove it on long rides and wasnt near as comfortable as my zx11 was but sounded like a small block with open headers they did 43 dyno runs to my bike to get it this way. there is a write up on my bike at tnt performance the people that did the work know what they are doing. i ended up selling it here in atlanta traffic when the fan came on would melt your legs couldnt figure out a way to redirect the air away from my legs with the disease i have that effects my legs i couldnt handle the heat

I think you hit the nail on the head there.. "only good in a straight line" I live in the mountains and have the bike over so my toes scrape fairly regularly.. The VMax was just soooo bad at that, it's so top heavy it's unbelievable.

Putting new jets and so on in to bring it up to 120Hp is not going to change that for me.. It just felt like I was trying to ride a fork lift, and the top end wobble made the other end of the scale, straight line high speed, uncomfortable too.

I'm not saying that the VMax was a bad bike, far from it, I used to drool over them as a teenager and even had a poster on the wall, it's just that I've found a bike that better suits my riding style, and I'm not a drooling teenager any more. :)

I do still wonder what the 200HP 2009 model is like to ride.. Might go see my local Yami dealer and take it for a test ride.. Just to quench my thirst for over all brute power.. Nothing quite like the feel of a muscle bike, and that's the daddy of muscle bikes! :D

guess im getting out of the power stage myself. i cant ride right now and dont know if i will ever be able sold all the big hp bikes i had figured i wanted something light that ran pretty well. im in the process of restoring my maxim x. its light and short . i just finished up 1 of my viragos i bought a 700 a few years back that sat most of its life just turned 9k put a wild custom paint job on it thought it was what i wanted nice bike but its just not me. i bought a custom virago 1100 x show bike that needs some work. after i bought that the end of last year i saw a maxim x that po tried to make a bobber out of i wanted to rescue it runs fine ive been polishing parts luckily he had all the original parts ive been doing a little here and there on it when im able but had to finish up the virago and get it ready to sell. i was really bad the past 3 months really couldnt get out and work on them couldnt hardly walk kept falling .im starting to walk a little better but still need a walker outside but its getting better trying to cut back on the pain meds so i can finish some of the projects have more energy. as soon as i get the virago off the lift maxim will go on it. it will probbably be beggining of next year before i can ride again if all goes right

Oh. That's sad. I'm sorry for you.

Have you thought of a trike with hand controls? I know a guy who lost a leg and rides one, a converted XJR as it happens. The XJR has 105 HP stock, so it's got a bit of push, you could try that as a project. At least you might get to ride again, even if it ain't on 2 wheels.

actually i was thinking of a trike if i cant ride if i do would probably go with a goldwing they have reverse.

on the seca i have allways wondered why the steering stops are so weak just about every bike that falls over puts a dent in the tank from the forks that sucks ive done it before speaking of a drop kicked tank was cleaning rust out of a tank was sitting tight on the railing on my deck we had a huge wind pass thru it fell off the deck landed face down in the dirt 6 feet down caved in the whole top it was an old bike couldnt match the paint had to paint the whole bike and get a new tank
