That's a pretty steep "Starting Bid" ... I think he'd be lucky to get that at the close of the Auction ... not for the first bid!

Oh boy... someone should send this guy an email with this site, among other things... thinks his crusty bike is worth 4 grand because it's YCIS??

Ugh... Probably worth 2 grand b/c of the mileage...

    Hmmm...
some strong points...3500 miles, shaft drive, RUNS!?!?! For $4k it better!! Noticed a missing sidecover on the left, chintzy standard windscreen, worth maybe $25 if you can find someone who wants it, crash bars are nice...let me check my NADA book values.....$1500 exc $975 vg $600 good $250 fair. Hmmm KBB $1385 retail $880 trade in. Worth a hair more than my Seca, better jump on this one. NOT... cruzerjd

I can see some guy with a whole fat bankroll buying the bike and having it delivered to a dealer for the spruce-up and maintenance ... just to have a big set of wheels under him for the summer.

Gas being what it is and expected to rise a bit ... that adds SOME value to a Low Miles Bike ... but, I still think he should have started the bidding lower and put a reserve on it if he expects to sell it for above his asking price!

Oh, by NADA guidelines my Seca is worth more...$1675 EXC $1000 VG $600 good $275 fair.

Then, ... I take back all I said. I didn't consult the Bluebook. That's maybe something the seller should have done before listing it for that steep a price!

I think this guy has been smoking some really good stuff! Heck...for that price one could buy a used Sportster, Bonneville, Norton, Enfield, Ariel, late model Vulcan, Shadow, Roadstar, V-Star, and the list goes on. But...for a Maxim?

Reading the posting - the seller does not convey that any transaction with him would be a pleasurable transaction. Also, how can you trust any information on the bike when the seller can't even identify the bike properly! Did he forget at '0' when listing the mileage?

This fellow is looking to take advantage of some naive kid or someone with little knowledge of bikes. Personally, I'm not impressed.

Oh my God, what a 2L!

$4g for a "parts or restoration" bike? Sitting in a barn for many years? Bwahahahaha!!!

Now the Corvair he's got for sale. Hmmm...

I never knew a "Maxum" was a sport bike.

For $4K I can get a real sport bike, a 2003 R6, in great condition.
