Hey does anyone know how to find the paint code, or the name of the paint for my 1983 Maxim xj650? It is black, but I want an exact match. Thanks.

Take it to your local autmotive paint store. They have several ways to help you. Best if you have a good gun and compressor.

Thanks. My wife says when they show up here, they never leave. I am going to have to trim down. Too many for the space I have.
    Sorry, not trying to Hijack.

I want to replace my rubber brake hose on my 83 xj650 maxim. But I don't want to take it off, until I get the stainless steel ones. I need the specs for it.
Just wondering if anybody replaced theirs and would know the specs for it.

    Thanks in advance.

The color of mine is red as you can see it. It is the original color.

We do carrry the correct Code 4J "Black Blue" paint (in either spray cans or pints), and like you noted, it is a glossy black with tiny blue metalflakes in it.
