So I've been a big fan of www.partsnmore.com for my xj parts, and for the most part, I've left www.mikesxs.net alone. However the other day, I spent some time on mikesxs.com, and started wondering how much of that xs stuff will fit our xjs. It's seems as though, on a basis of site design alone, that they may be owned / operated by the same people, which makes me think that ( in the interest of business) they would offer the xs stuff that fits on xjs on partsnmore.com.

What kinds of things have you guys bought from mikesxs.net for your xjs?

none, sorry. Havent heard of either before, but I will attempt to do some reasearch for/with you on the matter...

Edit: So far, on Partsmore, I havent found any parts for an XS650.... They seem to skip that model on quite a few different models. If they aren't the same business, then they might very well have a business deal between each other. Seems kind of shady, gots to get to sleep though, might research later!

I ordered my 550 gasket set from partsnmore - $69 shipped, and they came pretty quick for $3 shipping!

I dont see any resemblance in the site design myself to belive they are the same place.
mikesxs is in Florida. Ill have to go back ad see the location from my packing slip for partsnmore.

Well, Partsnmore appears to be based out of Buffalo, NY, while Mikes is infact based in Florida.

Their sites, although not visually the same, do have the same frame work. They both appear to use the same shopping cart system.

They also both recommend each-other for parts ( they link to eachother on their main pages ). I suppose I just assumed pnm was a "side-business" of mikes, but maybe it is infact 2 seperate businesses.

Either way, has anyone gotten anything from mikes for their XJs? ( Aside from the obvious generic parts ) Specifically, I'm looking at the "Handlebar top Clamp" and "Bar Switch Assembly" from here: http://www.mikesxs.net/mikesxs-chassis. ... ory_id=1.4

    I have made several purchases from mikesxs,and with very few exceptions,I have been very pleased. The few times that I wasn't a happy camper,I notified mikesxs and they made it right. Among some of the purchases that I have made are as follows;
    1) Dirt track style handle bars,in black to match my bike.
    2) Chrome handle bar top clamp;fit my '82 Maxim 650 perfectly, and I added chrome buttons to the clamp bolts. This really dresses up a boring area, and gets rid of that cheesey stock handlebar cover.
    3) Foam grips with chrome end caps. These are very nice, and very affordable.
    4) H-4 headlight conversion. Easy to install, and a great upgrade over the stock sealed beam.
    5) Blue tinted H-4 bulb, just to be different.I think the clear bulb actually works a little better.but I don't do much riding at night anyway.
    6) Slash cut mufflers, intended for my bobber project, but may find their way onto a '73 CB 450 that will be built in the cafe racer style.
    7) Throttle housing screws. I bought a bunch, just to have on hand.
    8) Many other parts, too numerous to list here, and intended for my '78 650 Special SE.
Many of the parts WILL interchange between XS and XJ models.
Now I'm off to check out partsnmore...thanks for the link,Gremlin!

Can anyone help me with a RH handlebar switch assembly for the XJ750 (model with remotely mounted master cylinder)? Or is it advisable simply to modify to a hanlebar-mounted master cylinder and switch assembly. (I'm in Cape Town South Africa, so international shipping would need to be considered)
