    This seems to be the right place to post this since the 82-83 XS400 J/K/RJ/RK models are more XJ-like than XS-like. Anyhow, in my efforts to track down the TCI wiring for this XS400J Maxim, I found the 82 Seca 400 RJ service manual in pdf. At long last, I have the TCI wiring info I need!

    Very useful information that is applicable to all four of these bikes in general, and the RJ/RK in specific.
