After I shut off my bike, It leaked gas for a long while, It has just now totally stopped, I am pretty sure it was coming from the carbs, it was never a problem before. I was wondering, is there a way to turn the petcock off? it just says on, res, pri, how does it go off?

When your petcock is set to ‘ON’ it’s using vacuum to suck the fuel into the carbs. “PRI”me is gravity fed and mainly used when re-filing empty carb bowls. “Res” will use the spare part of your gas tank to get the fuel that’s normally not used when riding in “ON” position. “RES” is used to get you to the nearest gas station. You may have a faulty petcock. Use the forum search to get more petcock information.

there is not a "off" position on the petcock when it is in the "on" position its like Sno says it is vacum fed so when the engine is not running there shouldnt be any fuel dripping out of the petcock, if there is then the petcock needs to be re-built or replaced, if you leave it like that then fuel constantly runs into the carbs filling them up and over-flowing them and then you`ve opened a different can od problems.

was the gas leaking from the bottom of the carbs?? if so then one or more of your float bowl gaskets may be leaking, it could be one of your float bowl drain screws also.

I think it is leaking from the bottom, because the bike fires up just fine, it is not flooded
