Just turned 40000 miles last week. Fork rebuild is next, then polishing the aluminum and chrome. This winter, the tank, sidecovers and tail section will be sanded, primed and repainted Hi gloss black with Gold flake, plan on using a gold stick on tri forks emblem for each side of the tank, kind of a BSA Goldstar look.[IMG]

Ease, nice looking bike. I bought this one for $500 with "carb issues". Turns out the vacuum diaphragm for the petcock had blown and it was running on 3 cylinders and blowing a lot of gas smoke. Test rode it for about 2 blocks, pulled over, checked the header pipes and realized the problem. With 40000 miles and a simple to fix problem, I realized I could get a decent running bike for $500. Seems bikes around here go for a bit more than other areas, probably because of the mild winters and lack of road salt. I have seen some bikes go for less, but not many. I hope to be able to ride it for a season or two, then sell it and buy a new Triumph Thruxton. A family friend owns the local Triumph dealership and kind of wants me to stop tiddling with the old Yamaha's and get something a bit newer, but it is such a fun hobby. cruzerjd

You and I have similar tastes but your bike is in a lot better condition than mine:

I'm behind on all things bike related at the moment, including the auto-cancel stuff I was working on, due to non-bike related events.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about being out of the hobby. New thruxtons could use to to be Cafe'd a l'ill too. Nice as they are, they sit a little high :).
