If they haven't been messed with before, how often are pilot screw adjustments worth really messing with? I've got a stock carb rack, cleaned well enough to eat off of, slides pass the clunk test, etc. I'm pretty sure the pilot screws haven't been touched. Right now the bike seems to idle and rev fine, UNTIL it's actually under a load.

Is it worth resetting the screws and tweaking them, or should I look elsewhere (used a butane torch and didn't find any vacuum leaks either)

To get all the passages squeaky clean you really need to pull the screws and flush that passage which of course means an adjustment. With no other issues I have tuned mine about once a year but I like messing with it and keeping it in peak tune.

Good point, that somehow eluded me this whole time.

Before you pull them, lightly seat them counting the number of turns to bottom. Record the numbers. This'll give you a starting point after they're clean.
