Got the carbs tore down and cleaned last night. I'll say everything that Ricks guide says to expect is true. Damn them are some of the softest screw heads I've ever encountered.

Pretty sure I got lucky though. Everything is out. One Main and One Pilot Jet were already winged out and required the needle nose vice grips. The Pilot screws had the covers off and 3 of the 4 turned freely from the get go. The other was pretty tight and already winged but a bit of oil, some some in/out turns and a dose of patience saved me.

I'd rather not put it back in since it's a bit winged and could give me fits down the road. I've found the Jets on line but Yam doesn't even give out the part number on the Pilot Screw.

Anybody have a source for these?

On a side note, the three that were free ranged from 1.75 to 2.75 turns out. Baseline it back at 2.5 for reassebmly?

    Thanks for any help.

    Chacal, PM will be sent

    Schmuckaholic,

3 it is then, but just so I'm clear (not familiar with the Hitachi's until last night) The Pilot Screw is a fuel screw not an air screw correct. Therefore out more = richer not leaner.
