I found an ad for a Seca up in St. Cloud MI. I believe MI. is the state. Anyways the ad on craigslist says the bike has just under 4,000 original miles and the guy wants $3,000.00 for the bike. So, anyways I see another ad posted that it is a scam and the speedo was just swapped. I don't know if either of the article posters is being honest or not. Just can't tell, but I'm posting both articles right here:

First Article: Yamaha Seca XJ-750 LOW MILES, CLEAN - $3000 (St. cloud)

I am fine with trying to triple your money (he bought it late last fall for under a grand), more power to you.

Scamming people is another thing however.

First -- The bike does not have 3,632 miles on it, the gauge cluster was replaced and he knows it. The original owner drove it for several years and my brother bought it in the early 90's. He rode it for a few years and at some point, neither of us recalls exactly when, the gauge cluster went bad. So yes, it does have 3,632 miles on the odometer if you are a scammer.

Second -- It is not a two owner bike (see above), if I had purchased it new in 1981 I would have been 12 years old. My brother would have been 5 years old, I am guessing that is too much bike for a 5 year old. Again, he knows that. We bought an 81 and an 82 Seca and years later sold the 82 and I kept the 81.

If you want to flip it, knock yourself out, but don't be an ass.

All that said, the bike is super fun, sounds great and worth $1,200-$1,400 in todays market. Unless he messed it up since last fall, don't be afraid to pick it up for that range.

Yes I've seen that add and the bikes looks like brand spankin' new, but that's way too much money for it, I don't care what shape it's in.
I already have a Seca just like it (not like it anymore) so I'm not interested in buying another one, or I'd go look at it and see what all the hype is about.
Oh ya, that's St. CLoud, Minnesota!
