    Just curious (at 2am).

    A) Is it possible to put an XJ1100 rear disc/rotor brake system on an 82 XJ750J Maxim?

    B) If yes, how involved is it?

I've never seen an 1100 in person. For all I know they are chain driven and the idea is totally bonkers.

well wouldnt you have to pretty much graft the rear end of a 1100 to the 750?

cause purely for starters, you would need disc mount tabs, and then a disc hub...

Easy swap NO. The XJ11 rear wheel and swingarm is much wider than the 750. I tried a few years ago when I had a 750 frame in my shop. Of course if you have a welder and fab shills anything is possible.

I grafted an 1100 rear end on. The splines are different on the wheel, and in the differential. The 1100 has 6 bolts holding the spline on the wheel and the 750 has 5. Easy? No not really at all. I didn't really notice the difference in width persay, but I only used the 750 pivot part and the 1100 rear axle part, and differential bolt part, then built the rest in between. It wasn't easy, cheap, or fun- but- it is cool IMHO.
