    Hi all,

I'm getting ready to do some paint work on my bike, and I'm also planning to get some of the parts powdercoated (intake manifold and fuel rail for sure). I was wondering what would work better for the sissy bar and footpeg mounting brackets (the triangular ones to which the mufflers attach)... should I have them powdercoated or anodized?

They are (or were originally, at least) black, and I want them to be black again.

    Thanks,
    Paul

powdercoating is more durable than anodizing. if you are going with black PCing will be very inexpensive.

PC is way cool until it gets a chip. Have you considered good 'ol paint? PJ1 markets black epoxy "frame paint" in spray cans and once cured it is tough as nails. I use it for brackets and things that may get scuffed up again.

anodizing is pretty tough it will not chip like PC but it still can be scratched From a looks perspective if you were going to color these peices anodizing looks sweet imo, but for straight black you can't get that with anodizing it will be translucent so PC would be the way to go.

I was getting excited as I read.
Then I got to the bottom and found out it's not instruction.
He's trying to sell you a kit.
I'm sure if I wanted to do this I could find instruction online somewhere.
