Alright guys my bike is currently waiting on some bar end mirrors. So i have been riding around without. (Bad I know) I was on my way from work to my second job (teaching guitar to some friends from church) and kept getting stuck at light after light. Windy road speed limit of 35mph. No one around. Light finally went green and I ran it all the way through first gear which is apparently 47mph.

Turns out while waiting at this light for an eternity a local sheriff had pulled up behind me quietly thinking I would take off on green. And I did not disappoint apparently. Can't say I didnt earn this one. He came back gave me a $72.00 fine for speeding and laughed alot. Can't believe I didnt look over my shoulder... We got to talking turns out he used to ride a gsxr 600. Actually shook his hand when I left. (Definitely threw him off me being polite after a fine).

While I was standing there waiting a stunt bike pulled out of the side road. No headlight, no plate, no signals, and straight pip'd. He took off heard him hit atleast third gear. The cop who had me pulled over radio'd it in and then laughed saying they got him as well.

Can't say I didn't earn this one....

$72 isn't so bad, show up in court and they will most likely reduce the points,,, they still want their money so bring the $72.

I did a very similar thing in my Jeep YJ - snowy day 4 inches of wet slippery stuff on the road, stopped at a light. Light turned green, I'm in 4-wheel mode and stomp on it and go tearing off - problem is I HAVE side and rear view mirrors and didn't even look to see who was behind me - it was the cops. Took them about 2 miles to catch up and then the lights went on. This was right after I put 33's on it so I tried the old "I haven't changed my speedo gear yet".

The cop says; "Tell it to the judge", so I did, with the reciept for the speedo gear change in hand - the judge looked down at his computer and then back at me and said.... " So how do you explain the two previous speeding tickets?" :(

I just paid $125 today for a 40/30 (in the car). No points if I stay ticket-free for 6 months. The girl ahead of me got a $100 fine for 59/30 at the same speed trap. Go figure.

Normally I am super careful about when I take off and where I speed. So this one definitely gave me a chuckle.

hopefully yur insurance doesent go up a bunch. one time i was zapped at 51 in a 35. originally was 4 points and 140 bucks. went to court, judge offered to either reduce to 86 and 2 points or make it a ordinance violation of disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle and 175 bucks. I chose the latter as then it wouldnt be reported to the dmv/my record.

Last time i was at the insurance co, i asked what the ticket would have done to my ins rate. Turns out on my car alone it would have been 230.00 more per year. for three years. thats almost 700 bucks. and not even mentioning the bike!!! Good thing i chose option b! :O

Fortunately I have a lawyer in the family who "fixes" all of my tickets. He gets them dropped to like a parking ticket or loud stereo ticket. No points and a clean record for $50.00+court fees. So it will go to him.
