Hello! This is my first bike and I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to bike repair but it's a 1984 750RL, I bought it used and it was sitting for about 8 years, the owner said it was running perfectly before he stored it. I fully cleaned the carbs with boiling lemon juice and tried to start it, the engine made a sound like it was about to start, but there was no spark so it didn't, (spark plugs look in good condition). All the lights, signals, and electronics work fine. The ignition coils resistances read 5.5 at Rx-1 primary coil and 200 at Rx-100 secondary coil, are these the right numbers? Also is there any way to find out if the ICU is working properly?

    Thanks in advance!

Wow, that is a RARE bike from what I remember...there were less then 1000 ever built. I don't think it ever sold in the US. I friend of mine brought one to me many years ago that he had brought with him when he moved here from Ontario without spark and we found a bad connection in the wiring connectors. It's very similar to some of the bikes sold here but I wouldn't use thier procedures. You can always check PDF town for a manual is you don't get the help that you need, here.

Good luck, you def have a special bike there. Your sig doesn't show where you live but are you in the US, AU or Canada?

Thanks for the help, and I'm in Ontario, Canada. I found the manual that the previous owner gave me and for the ignition coils it says: 2.5ohm +- 10% @ 20'C for the primary coil and 11kohm +- 20% @ 20'C (degrees Celsius) for the secondary coil so looks like i'm going to have to replace those.
