THis has been buggin me for some time. WHen I bought the bike(well they are still there) there are two packages of 10A glass fuses in the compartment under the seat. I have an 85 maxim X that takes the blade style automotive type fuses. Is there a glass fuse holder somewhere other than the fuse box that take the 10 amp fuses? I have had no electrical problems in the last year I have owned it so I don't know why they are there. Any thoughts guys? I think the main batery fuse is a 30A but I haven't disturbed it to see if it is a glass or blade type fuse.

If it is the little rubber connector under the seat that holds the 2 barrel fuses you are mentioning, 1 is the main power supply to the bike. The other is just a back up holder in case you blow the first.

Capy is correct, and they SHOULD be 30A fuses, not 10A........

these are actually the clear boxes that you buy fuses in. so I have 8 or so 10A fuses as spares that I can find nowhere that they go. I do know where the main holder is but like mentioned I have not disturbed it as I have had no issues. I thought maybe there was another hidden fuse somewhere. idunno.

No glass fuses that I know of other than the 30A under the seat. I snipped out the glass main fuse holder and replaced it with a 30A blade. The main reason is that the 30A glass fuse is a shorty and I only found them in multiple packs of assorted fuses(only two shorty's in the pack).

I had a short in my wiring and popped the main fuse plus the spare, so that is how I learned about the fuse being difficult to replace.

Unless the PO added something himself, There are no other barrel fuses on the bike.
