I have a 82 xj750. I was wondering what other years/sizes have parts that can be used on mine. For example I am looking for a oil filter housing and I a friend has a spare off a xj650. Would it be compatable with my xj750? I hope I made sense. Please let me know of any info you are aware off. Thanks, SuperB

Yes, the 650's oil filter housing will work just fine on your bike. Lots of parts will interchange between a 650 and a 750 engine. The 1982-1983 model XJ650, and 1981-1983 XJ750 engines are very similar.

1980-1981 XJ650 engines do not have YICS, so some parts are a bit different (top end, valve cover), but a lot of stuff will still fit.

Parts from the XJ650 Turbo (with some exceptions), XJ550, XJ1100 and the X models will not fit, so be careful there...

An easy way to tell, is too look at the parts diagrams between the two and compare part numbers. You can do that through the Yamaha website.
