Quick carb question.

    1981 XJ550.
    Mikuni Carbs

    Is the #3 Carb (the one the throttle cable hooks too) interchangeable with #2? I know 1 and 4 arent but someone told me the center ones are. I have a #3 and need a #2

    #2 and #3 carb bodies are interchangeable. The throttle shaft hardware has to be swapped.

    Nope, not on Mikuni carbs. On HSC32 Hitachi carbs, the #2 and #3 are interchangeable (i.e. they are physically the exact same raw carb body) but not on the Mikuni's, there are differences in either the overflow ports and/or throttle shaft stop/spring-hook pegs (that are cast into the body) that makes all carb bodies on Mikuni models (and HSC33 Hitachi models) unique from each other.
