The book says 2 mm +- 1 mm from the top of the float bowl. On the rack, the float bowl tucks into the main body by a couple of mm on the sides, which is where it says to measure. Question is, do I go 2 mm from where the two bits stop overlapping, or 2 mm from the actual top of the float bowl?

From the actual top of the Float Bowl.
As you would look at the Float Bowl attached to the Carb Body ... eyeball the
washer that between the Fastening Screw and the Main Body.

Put the Float Fuel Level right at the top of that washer when you Fluid Checkk them and you'll be right on the money!
