would a two piece seat off of a 85 700 maxim fit a 83 650 maxim? doesn't have to be a perfect fit because i wanted to cut the seat pan to make a bobber out of the 650, but if the two piece seat would fit it would save me time and the old seat.

    thanks in advance

If you plan to bob it then you will need to make a new way to mount the seat anyway. So basically anything will fit cause you have to make it fit.

I just figured the seat off the 700 might follow the lines of the 650 frame saving me from hacking up the original 650 seat.

It should look nice - depends on the look you are going for. Alot of bobbers have a spring mounted hard pan type seat
