The PO of my bike did a red kote liner to the gas tank, I left the gas on one night and some gas seeped out and it was red, does this stuff do that when gas is first introduced to the new liner? the PO is a perfectionist and takes the time to do things right so I know he installed it right, the liner has been in the tank for at least a year before I put gas in it for the first time.
    Thanks! :D

I had the liner put in my gas tank about two years ago. Never see any red gas, clear fuel filter so I would have noticed... Not sure if it is red kote brand, but it is a noticibly red tank liner. I am going to guess that it is probably not supposed to do that... As to if it can hurt any engine components/carbuerator, not sure but you should investigate it some rather than take a risk. Might gum up your carbs or something, pain in the rear if it happens. I would contact the company for recommendations and information.

I just took my gas tank off and dumped the fuel out, what do ya know, pink gas!
The red kote company said it should only turn red if methanol is used, well I never put any additives in the gas and just used regular 89 octane fuel in her.
I am pretty nervous about running anymore gas thru this thing with this tank, worried that it will coat my carbs and engine and ruin my bike. Should I get a new tank ir is there a way to rid this liner from my tank?
Geeze one thing after another..... :(

Does the red hue go away eventualy? when the red dye goes away does it start degrading the liner?

I have a red kote lined tank, some pin holes didn't get sealed. i have added gas to the tank. Do i have to completely remove the red kote or is there a way i can add more, keeping in mind that i have added gas

I used it on my tank. Definitely pink gas. no trouble with it though. I red that they've changed their formula since so it doesn't do that, but I haven't heard any follow up on that.
