Remember those stuck Pilot Mixture screws?

    The two that were stuck are 1 & 2. The machinist couldn't even get them out.

    Off I go to the for sale section for some carb bodies. Question though; does it matter what the number the carb bodies are as long as they aren't #3?

    It matters for #1 and #4 due to the inlet pipe arrangement, #2 and #3 WOULD be the same in that respect, but since #3 has other differences, yes.

    Unless you want to do some "re-engineering," it matters.

    If it were me I'd be on eBay looking for another whole rack. I have two spares for the 550s, one for parts I got for $25 and one really nice rebuildable rack I got for $55. You can probably find a rack cheaper than two carb bodies.

    Roger that Mr. Fitz. I was wondering if that was the way to go. I just can't see myself spending more than $50 for a set of carbs though. So I am going to have to be patient.

    Definitely go ebay. I bought a rack for my 81 650 for $45 and some change for shipping

    Even stuck they will come out... took me very long time ( over a year)soaking and heating and turning(well attempting)... repeats
