Situation is that I have bought aftermarket 4-1 exhaust since original is hopelessly rusted. And those new pipes are propably meant to be to american model because they don't fit since oil filter comes out more because of that oil cooler plate and those pipes run over it (would make oil changes bit more time taking also  )

So my question is that how much would it be stepping backward technical and performance wise if I remove that oil cooler to fit that exhaust on?
I have understood that american models don't have it and those bikes run just fine with out of it?
Engine will run hotter, propably have to rejet and oil changes will have a bit more work because of that exhaust :?
Is it better to cut it to inch pieces and consider some other solution?

You are correct, American models don't have it. Your best bet would be to immediately remove it and send it to me, along with all the mounting brackets and hardware.

Seriously though, aftermarket stock-configuration exhaust systems for that bike are easier to come by in Europe than over here. I would source an exhaust system that fits. JAMA makes a complete XJ550 exhaust, or you can get the headpipes and/or mufflers separately. http://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/imag ... s/Jama.htm

I wish their stuff was more readily available here.

Send email to guy who sold that system, not sure if he is willing to undo deal anymore since it's been a while and hes not bound to do so  Oh well, would have been too cheap and easy if this have worked
