I replaced the drag bars on my bike with a set of more upright bars. It was very straightforward, at least I thought so. After everything was reinstalled and I went to start the bike it revved very high. I took the tank back off and got the throttle cable where I thought it should be and restarted the bike. Idle came back down to normal for a minute then it kept wanting to die on me unless I kept it above 2k RPMs.

Now it feels like it's not getting enough fuel but only at low RPMs, above 2000 RPM it feels fine. I'm assuming I pulled something loose when I took the tank off and put it back on. Bike ran perfect before I changed out the bars.

All cables are long enough, it looks as though nothing was changed out when the drag bars were put on, so cable and wire length doesn't appear to be an issue.

Suggestions on what to look for first?

Start your bike, turn the handlebars full left then full right. If the idle goes up the cable may not be long enough or the adjustment is still off.

That was my first thought, but turning the bars did not affect idle after rerouting throttle cable. It feels like it is not getting enough spark or fuel at low RPM. It got too dark to see well enough, but from what I could see, nothing appears out of order. I'll have to check again tomorrow when I have enough light.

I rode the bike for several miles after the swap, runs perfect until I stop and idle. It idles fine for a minute then starts to die. When I give it throttle it sputters and feels powerless until right around 2000 RPM, then clears up until I let it idle back down. Today before the swap ZERO issues, now, issues. I'm thinking I pulled something loose, pinched something maybe? Just curious what to look for first. The problem is this is going to drive me crazy until I can get to it tomorrow.

One other thing I forgot to mention, when petcock is turned to on bike won't run at all, I gave to set it to prime to run. This was not the case before the handlebar swap.

The throttle cable and enrichment cable aren't swapped right? Stupid question... does your bike have enough gas to run in the "on" position? Have you tried the lever in the "reserve" position? If so the petcock diaphragm may be bad.

    measure your cables.
check your vacuum line to be sure you hooked it up with out a kink you may try replacing the line you could have a hole it it from moving it if it is a stock hose.
    also check fuel line .
    check your clamps.
look first at things you took off or disconnected

Tank is full, just filled up. I'll measure all cables and check fuel and vacuum lines later today.

I'm thinking (hoping) it's just something I overlooked when putting everything back together.
