anyone have any information on replacement triple tree nuts for an 83 xj900. i want to try some regular hex nuts for it because back when i did the bearings on the tree i used a punch and hammer to tighten which really dented up the originals more than i like and i think a regular hex nut would be a better deal but i dont know thread sizing.

you can take a socket and cut it to make it into a triple tree nut socket.
just get one that lines up with the top where the notches are and cut the socket and grind away making matching pins in it to fit the nut.

Those are special nuts and I really doubt you will find them to match in a regular hex style. You would be better off to clean them with a file and get the proper spanner wrench to tighten or loosen them.

Yeah that's what I was worried about.. Well I just went ahead and found some good ones on ebay. Definitely not using a punch on these ones
