Anyone have any tips? Mine are all old and crusty looking. I would like something smaller and cleaner than the stock throttle/break levers etc...

Are there universal aftermarket "chopper" kits or something?

If it will fit on a 7/8" bar, the sky is the limit. I scooped a set of control clusters off of a domestic Yamaha while I was in Brazil last year. New, less wiring and added switches for other accessories I have yet to decide upon. I've seen nice stuff off of Hondas that I wouldn't mind squeezing in. You have hundreds of bike shops in the greater L.A. area, start lookin'. You could purchase new but they come at a new price. The scrap yards aren't too much better but the selection can't be beat. There is a legendary yard in north Hollywood that I have yet to visit. My buddy is itching to check it out. I could be convinced to meet you there for a look around for good candidates.

You could take all the guts out (it is not hard), sand them down then you can paint them ether with a hammer tone or crinkle paint for a really trick look.
