Back to stock as best as possible.
Got some stuff from Teddytedted. Going to try and bring back the original look of the Beast pre-vetter.

This is how it looked on the side.
Teddytedted was nice enough to include another housing that was really thrashed but did come in handy...

I then cut a piece out to match the missing bits. And epoxied them in place using a bit of Bondo (had to take most of it back off but some took) JB weld and super glue.

Sanding and refining with mostly JB at this point. Also the housing was bowing out so it kept making the crack re-appear so some gool ol fashioned duct-tape was in order.

Here it is sanded , painted and assembled. Shows a little scarring that I couldnt get to go away without deforming the case, so I left it be.

It looks amazing despite the flaw. Almost "new"

You know in the jeep wrangler community there was the saying that 'real jeeps don't have square headlights'.
I suppose Hank is inferring that 'real XJ's don't have square headlights'.

However as a former YJ wrangler owner (1993 square headlighted jeep); I must say that square is fair and not a bad thing at all. Helen (that YJ jeep) served me and our family VERY well until the salt from 21 years of Wisconsin winters brought her (literally) to her knees.

Installed headlight and aux light both working and nice and bright!

Next up: Turn signals, after I mess with some of the wiring :)

that auxiliary light is a real good candidate for a LED bulb, it would take some of the load off your alternator

The later turnsignals on an earlier bike look funny to me, but then I like to keep things pretty much original.

    It's coming along-----

I'd recommend that you get some chrome trim to put around the edge of your tank. It's awesome finishing touch.
