Besides the slide diaphrams, and the mixture o-rings, is there anymore rubber in these carbs? I've had these things apart cleaning jets a hundred times, but this will be the first time that I SOAK them in cleaner (It's time).
They're somewhat clean, but I want them spotless!
I've got to change the jets and since it's such a PITA to remove the carbs from this creation, I figured that I'd get everything I could clean enough to eat off of.
I'm only pulling them once, (lord I hope), and I want to make sure that I don't soak some rubber in a vat full of cleaner.

Any knee jerk reactions are welcome too.

The bike was running like a bat out of hell with the dynojet, Vance and hines SS, pods, and 16" virago rim... but since the engine has found it's new home, I had to modify a few things... I split the headers into seperate exhaust, with a lawnmower muffler on each one, and left the pods. I have more than enough back-pressure now, and I'm running rich. I'd like to start with the stock mains, but the PO drilled them out, and I don't have any, so I'll start three sizes lower than what is in there now. I'd love to have it perfect, but it doesn't get ridden that much, so close is good enough! (especially when it takes a whole day to get the carbs out)

    Butterfly shaft seals.

Not a fun-day in camp to have to service!

No reason NOT to set 'em up for peak performance if you got the job ready for the soaker.

(Call around and see if there's Ultra-sonic cleaning joint nearby ... slip the guy a few buck to put-'em-in with a payin' job.)

Butterfly shaft seals... Thanks for the warning!
And actually there is a reason to not set them up for +top performance. It takes all day to remove the body of the ATV and get the carbs out. A simple plug chop and first jet correction can cost a whole weekend. Not a fun thing when trying to dial it in.

The fuel passage tubes are also sealed with orings. The carbs have to be seperated to remove these so only carbs seperated from the rack can go into the carb dip.
