one of my mufflers is fairly rusty although no holes where they shouldn't be. It was on the side not leaning against the house of the PO.
I think I might send pics to the chrome Dood and check his pulse. Maybe I'll catch him on a good day

most platers I talked to won't touch used motorcycle exhaust components because it's impossible to get them completely clean and they don't want to pollute a tankful of $3Grand in chemicals. The one guy that would wanted 4X the cost of an NOS part.

If you find someone please share.

I may have to buy two since I can't find one like I have. Still with a 2" od header I don't have many choices.

I mail the stuff I have done to a guy in Connecticut. Locally it's very expensive and 50 miles to the nearest plater. For the gas and hassle I'd rather mail it. The CT guy is very reasonable.

Will he do exhaust parts, like dual-walled head pipes?

If so, who is he? I have a couple of head pipes I want to get re-chromed and can't find anyone willing to touch them because they're used.

try decorativechrome.com I'm pretty shure that's correct. I emailed him a picture of my Norton kicker ,shifter, peg suport and rear brake arm . He emailed back a quote of 150 plus s/h. That was better than any I had checked with. His main work is hyd cylinders and rods the shiny chrome is a side interest...............update.........
the above link don't work . I Googled the place and it's Vickerman's Chrome in South Beloit, IL.

Why can't they just plug the pipe, sealed with silicone, weighted with sand so it doesn't float, and just chrome the outside?
