After fifteen years I'm selling my XJ75o and sidecar. It's on Ebay, but I don't really want to see it go. It's always been reliable and fun to drive, although I've used the Venture and sidecar for holidays for a long time. I've tidied up the paintwork and it looks better than it ever had before, but three bikes and sidecars and garages to put them in is more than I can afford these days.

I'm not trying to sell it to you guys, I just wanted to say that I'll be sad to see it go and hope that the new owner looks after it and appreciates it.

I may be around here a bit more as I've put the old XJ550 back on the road, although I need to get the carbs sorted as it's running quite badly - I suspect the slides aren't sliding.

Apart from that, eight more days on the auction. I think I need to get away on it for a camping weekend before it's too late...

I think the pictures are somewhere on the site anyway. I won't link to the ad, but I've some pictures on photobucket.

@ Gark: The most difficult fitting to locate (without making a sub-chassis) was the top one at the front. On the Seco model, there is a substantial part of the frame ahead of the tank which you can attach to/through ?

Well after getting messed about a bit by the winning bidder on Ebay, the second highest bidder came and collected the outfit yesterday. He had a while checking it out and then we changed the rocker box cover which started weeping (typical that it started now obviously I shouldn't have cleaned her !)

Anyway, he set off on a massive return journey to Cornwall where some pretty awful weather was forecast - I hope she stayed as reliable as she always was for me.

Is this steering damper just a random shock off some bleedin' car??

No, it's a carefully selected one at an affordable price which can be easily replaced and works, rather than an extremely expensive, much lower duty one that can only be bought from a specialist supplier who might have them no more in a year's time.

Of course it is a car damper - that's what the majority of vehicle parts are made for these days. I did have a motorcycle damper fitted before, but it really wasn't any use.
