I was looking to run some non-ethanol gas into the engine for winter storage. All I can really find are the 5 gal cans of Sunoco "race" fuel at 95 octane. Do you guys think this higher octane fuel would be okay in these older engines?

I'd hate have my just rebuilt carbs get all gunked up again over the winter. Even with Stabil or Seafoam in the tanks of my power equipment, come springtime I still sometimes see that white phlegmy buildup in the carb bowls with ethanol gas.

Yup, no issue at all. It's fairly typical (at least where I'm at) that the ethanol free stuff is available in higher octane only.
