I was having some issues of washing soda taking a very long time and not doing a whole lot. I dumped about 1/4 of a jug of mortons salt into the mixture, swished around, then popped my electrode back in. BAM! nice current through the solution. I am getting some really ugly stuff out of the tank now! I have to wipe off the piece of ready-rod about every half hour, there is so much rust/junk on it!

    w00t!

Just make sure you don't breath any of the fumes. Using salt in the process creates chlorine gas -- nasty (and deadly) stuff!

I'd keep a fan blowing across it to disperse everything...

I agree with MHHpartner i work in water treatment and that is exactly how chlorine is made and dealing with 99% pure chlorine 5 days of the week and getting hit with it a couple of times IT CAN KILL YOU be safe and ventilate well outside with a fan, very nasty beast your making, also if chlorine concentration is to high it will eat metal so be careful of that also.
