Originally from Maine, transplanted to Colorado Springs for better jobs and weather. The best thing about the weather here is the riding season is nearly year round.

I purchased my first bike a few weeks ago. Its an '82 Yamaha Seca 750. I fell in love with the "retro" look and custom paint job. The paint is scratched up, however, because the bike had been laid down.

It did come with a fairing and hard saddlebags. I'm learning alot as I go and plan on spending alot of time here finding out more.

My first question: How do these saddlebags attatch? The frame for them has the Yamaha name of it and the saddlebags bolt to that frame but I can't seem to figure out how they attach to the bike.

Look forward to hearing from you all and learning, learning, learning.

    Thanks.

I've been looking on line for hours and see very few with the original hard saddlebags. The pics don't show much other than I will need to move the back blinkers.

Guess I stay with the back pack for now.

Welcome from Kansas, and Minnesota. I am also taking advantage of the extended rising season I get temporarily living here in Kansas. In Minnesota, we get about four good months, then two cold and wet ones, then six months of garage time. Kansas, we get about 8-9 months.

Have fun with whatever bike projects you begin. Owning an old bike has a great cost advantage over new ones, assuming you do a most or all the work yourself.
