Seal Mate?

    Sorry, haven't tried it. But it's hard to not want to for the price prior to going the whole seal route.

    Obviously, this will only work where foreign debris has accumulated under the seal to the point where oil is able to bypass it.

    Tell me about it! I went the seal route :lol: glad I did cause I dont know what is in these forks. Its either good grade 10wt red fork oil or red tranny fluid. dirty in there too. I may still pick some of these up just to have around though. Cant hurt.

    Thought I saw a thread on here somewhere, where they were using old 35mm film strips to basically do the same thing...I haven't tried either methods, but I'd bet they're very similar.

    Had my seals replaced and almost immediately one began to leak a lot. I tried a piece of 35mm film but had problems inserting it. I then used a very thin feeler gauge. The leak stopped immediately. Apparently there was some something between the seal and the fork. What ever you use, be sure that it is inserted at a slight angle so that any debris is forced out the top. The seal mate is shaped to do that. I went around mine two times just to be sure.
