I'm putting new headers on, but keeping the old mufflers. Does anyone know what the "sealing sleeve" (haynes) between the header and muffler is made of, where to purchase new ones? These old ones look pretty rotten.

Google a product called "Blue Away" (I think that is what it is called),this may help eliminate your exhaust discoloration. Failling that, header wrap is another option.

Bill, you should tell him how long and hard a row it was to change them out.

It's a royal pain to get them out but not the worst thing I've had to do....

Now I'm scared. But that's part of bike maintenance.
