seat pad

    I was watching motorcycle racing and I notice the seat has thin maybe 1/4-1/2" thick pad on the seat, not really a covered cushioning, just a pad of some sort. Does anyone know what this material is and where it is sold. It would be awesome ofor the seat pan on the flat track bike I want to build.

    closed cell foam is a sleeping bag pad from walmart, cheap.
    or free, open cell foam carpet padding, from a carpet installer, they throw away more than you need
