    Im looking at seats on E-bay for my 81 XJ 650. The seats that im looking at are off a xs model. The big question is.....Will it work w/ my bike. aka interchangeable.

    Nope.

    Get the correct seat. If you need one for a Maxim, years 80-83 all used the same seat.

    Have the stock seat reformed and recovered, thats what I did and it turned out great. Look at my 1981 XJ650-PICTURES thread to see pictures.
