Wasn't sure where this should go, Chat or Mods, but here goes.

I have a 82 650 max. I really want to put another seat on it. Have anyone tried to fit a seat from another XJ to this bike ie, 750, 1100, etc?

Would it be possible to mod other model seat to fit the seat pan of the 650?

I can't stand the 650 seat. I really like the looks and comfort of the larger models.

Let me know what you know.

    Thanx

I just bought a Roadstar seat from a guy off of ebay, after some dremel work and fashioning a new bracket to mount the rear, Im going to have a nice big saddle for my nice big saddle filler......I may even use the Pillion seat later on....

Why not have a seat custom made on your pan? These folks can do almost anything: http://www.sargentcycle.com Here's the link to their custom foam reshaping page: http://www.sargentcycle.com/csfoam.htm I just had them redo the seat from my '83 project bike and had the "dip" leveled out and atomic foam added and they did an AWESOME job! I'll post pics soon...

    Fitz,
What did you pay for that service?
I talked to a friend of mine that had a BMW that he took to Sargent to have a custom seat made due to an injury he suffered to his tailbone. When he was done it ran him close to 1000 bucks. Granted it was a special situation but it did not appear to be greatly different, mostly just shaping.

I don't know I've been riding the BMW more and more because of this, I did just put air shocks on to see if would reduce the fatigue and it seems to help.
