Does anyone have any info on adapting an oil cooler from another XJ/FJ etc bike to fit a Seca 550? Something that would be bolt-on, preferably.

The cooler from an FZ600 will work.

Our bikes didn't come with them in the USA.

    ohh, totally forgot.

    So there is
Single versus double discs on the front wheel
    Oil cooler
Bigger drum in the rear wheel

That differs so far to my knowledge on the 550

Yes, do have the switch for : all lights on, only instrument lights and all off.

The shoes for the rear drum is apparently the same size as your XJ650's
Found it out the hard way.

Interesting. The sliding switch for my headlight was busted when I bought the bike, and I just replaced it. When I put it all the way up, the headlight goes off. Maybe the original switch was replaced with a Canadian one? I am near the border, after all. :)

A North-American market bike's "headlight" sliding switch should just be for low beam/high beam. Does yours actually have three positions (or is your high beam out?)

The weight of the calipers and discs are not that much, I'd have to weigh everything to find out how much it differs though..

Since I haven't ridden it at all yet, I'm just guessing that the double calipers will give a more direct and distinct action when pulling the lever. But how big of a difference I can't really say.

I know those discs are surprisingly heavy.
