Does anyone know what the exact difference is in the 83 900 seca and the diversions, what would be the difference inh the pipes and collector, wondering how close they would come to bolting up, With the exxhaust being as hard as they are to find in a 4 into 2 is this something that is doable, Was the diversion an off base of the 900 seca. searching for ideas here. dekelvic, makes several options for the diversion and I am curious how much difference their collector would actually be

The earlier 900s like the '83 had a more "upright" motor; the Diversions are similar to the Seca II/600 Diversion in that the head is tilted foward at a greater angle. I don't think you can get away with Divvy pipes on an '83 XJ900. At least not the head pipes.

If the seca 900 uses the same basic engine design, will any of the exhaust components interchange from the other xj line ups

    No, they won't interchange.

    Dave is right.

Like I said, they tipped the cylinder bank forward, (in relation to the crankcase) compared to the earlier series. Just like they did with the FJ/FZ from '85 on. It's one of those "family resemblance" things; but in this case it's just a resemblance.

If your location on the planet was in your profile info, we might be able to give you some more solid advice. Exhaust systems for the early 900s are do-able, no matter what corner of the world you're in.
