I'm thinking about buying a 650 (same year) Seca motor to replace my Maxim 650 motor. I've read in some of post here that the gear ratios might be different or the Seca motor has less horsepower.

the only difference I can see is that the Seca has the shifter mounted further forward with linkage to bring it back whereas the Maxim is mounted back and is directly attached.

Can I swap out parts from my old Maxim motor to make the Seca shifting work like the Maxim?

How about the engine mount differences? Has anyone attempted the swap this direction?

    Thanks!

The Seca pulled a taller tire, so it had a lower gear ratio, by around 8%.
The motor drops right in the frame, with maybe a difference in using the bolts from your Maxim, not the Seca bolts.
I haven't sorted out the shifter difference, but if it works, leave it alone.
The Maxim 650 has less aggressive cams, so the Seca makes more HP.
The North America Seca was jetted different than the rest of the world.
You might want to increase the #40 jet to #41
