    i can just barely read my shim pad numbers, its to the point where i am guessing numbers

    i can measure them with a micrometer, but the measurements don't seem to match the numbers on the pad once converted into a metric measurement

    if i list my shim sizes in imperial can you tell me what size the pads are?

    .096" = 2.43
    .099" = 2.5
    .102" = 2.6
    .10425" = 265
    .106" = 270

    what are the pad equals of those?

    You have a worn shim there. Guessing: The 2.43 was probably a 245; the rest are as follows: 2.5 is a 250; 2.6mm= a 260; likewise 265 and 270. The shims come in .05mm sizes; so a 2.5mm=Y250; 2.65mm=Y265 etc. You've got it, you have a 245, a 250, 260, 265 and 270 there.

    This is why I recommend a metric feeler gauge (and a metric micrometer, a metric caliper, a metric tape measure, I think you get my drift...)

    i will end up getting such things, but i have not the money right now and i need the bike to get a job
