Does anyone have the following size shims:

    260
    265 (x2)
    275
    295

I've contacted Hogfiddles, but haven't heard anything back. I'd like to get the moto buttoned up and running again and need to trade for some shims!

I need 265 myself. However, I should have an extra 275 when I'm done. I pmd Hogfiddles, too, he said he'd take a look, but I haven't heard anything else. Maybe he's busy.

JP, you should have your bike up on the stand next to Wirehairs' and my own.

Seems we all decided to do it at the same time :D

Well, it's up on the stand. :D

I just called Hitching Post in Fridley. They can get shims in 3 days and they charge $22.50 per shim. Kinda pricey, so it wouldn't be my first choice.

I need four 265 shims and one 270. I will have 275 and 280 shims left over.

Well, Chacal has them for about $10 a piece. We can order a "shim refill kit" with 5 shims of each "step" in a particular range from bikebandit. Problem is those refill kits cost ~ $36, and the ranges they cater to are in .25mm increments. so one kit is 2.4-2.65mm, then they go up and down through the ranges in that .25mm increment per kit.

You'd get 5 shims of each size for the listed range. I need shims from 2 kits, so the cost of $72 is a bit high for me. I'd be set for shims, but I don't think I'd want to run my own shim pool.

The link for the kit: http://www.bikebandit.com/hot-cams-valv ... d?m=147101

If you hold your pants, Hogfiddles will get back with you. I personally talked to him late this past weekend & he is away; busy the entire week (hence why you don't see him on here either). I highly recommend getting shims from hogfiddles especially if you are interested in NOS shims. He offers a great deal with trading your old shims & some extra $ for NOS shims.

We need to all make a beer run together when we finally get this done. Ugh!

Chacal has shims for $9 and change a piece. Priority mail will be to you in 2-3 days. I've ordered a number of parts from him and have always found his communication excellent, his service top-notch, and his shipping quick.

Why look anywhere else, especially for double the price???

I just did a swap with Hogfiddles and it was great. Such an amazing service he has. Ended up saving me a lot of money. Kudos to him.

This is my next job, I'll put up what I have/need in the next couple days. Unless I get too wrapped up in brake caliper rebuilding.

Well, if the 3 of us want to go in, I'm willing to do it. We can sell/trade the leftovers just to enough to break-even.

I just emailed all of you who had sent me emails.....I have been away working at Boys' State for the week and only got sporadic chances to try and check emails. the campus wireless there was difficult, too.

    So....I ba-a-a-a-a-a-ck :)

thanks for your patience......I'm sure it was starting to wear thin, and I apologize for that. Communication things were a bit out of my control this time :(
