Sweet. I don't know if I will change it yet. Are the shocks for the Maxim any better ride quality wise?

Not really....... But if you look carefully, you can find either the air shocks, or the ones with heavier springs. Those do ride better. I had a heavier pair of springs on my 650 maxim since I had all the luggage and fairing stuff on it. Look at the black full-dress '83 650 maxim in the showcase. You MAY be able to see the rear springs are a bit thicker than most 650 springs.

Most oem shocks are pretty much mush after 30+ years. New ones will be worth the investment if you going to blast up the island highway

To my suprise, they work like new, but the chrome is rusting. I have collector plates, so I need to keep the bike looking respectable. The plate rules allow for new shocks if they look period correct.

Yes new guy at ICBC this year they are clamping down on rules. Too many so called "collector " bikes look like crap up close

Oh man, I have seen a few out there. Hard to believe they have collector plates.
