I have a 82 Seca 650 and I have had a lot of trouble with the side stand switch. If I had my stand down started the bike in Neutral and then put the stand up and put it in gear it would kill. So I would have to put the side stand in about 1/4 up and I would hear the electrical click and I could start the bike with the clutch in and go once I am in gear going I would put the stand up. I thought it was a problem with the switch I took it off to attempt to bypass the switch. I cut the switch wires and tied the green and black together. The blue/yellow wire is supposed to be grounded. I ground it and it makes the same rapid clicks that it made when I was trying to find the correct position for the side stand when the switch was installed. Even with the blue/yellow wire grounded I still can not get the bike going. How do I fix this?

Sounds like your side stand is buggered. You can take it apart and clean it but you can bypass the entire thing by following the sidestand connector wires to the connector and then place a jumper wire across both the connectors.

AHhhhh. Side stand issues....brings back memories!
