Sidestand relay replacement?

    Hey guys,

    I think I may have a faulty sidestand relay. While waiting at a light yesterday my bike shut itself off. When trying to re-start it, the oil light would come on, but it wouldn't turn. All lights and horn still working and the battery was fine moments before when I started it the first time. Checking everthing, I noticed that as I rocked the engine kill switch and I could hear lots of intermittent clicking as I hit the switch on and off.

    I'm almost certain the buzzing/clicking was coming from the sidestand relay, which makes sense to me. The problem is, does anyone know of a newer relay that I could drop in there? The current part says Omron 4U8-01 on it, and I'm getting precious few hits on Google for that part #. There's one single Ebay auction, but it looks even worse than mine!

    Pull yours apart and clean it up, burnish the contacts and slap it back in!

    My side stand relay cover was completely rusted.

    yamaha also uses one in thier golf carts.

    most likely what we need i have a question to the seller about this as well as to yamaha. I have found it as cheap as 25 usd to 96 usd . depends on whos selling it i guess
