Six speed transmission for xj900 ???

    I was just curious if there was an after market Six Speed Transmission available for the xj900 seca? I have noticed that the RPM at 55 MPH is only 3500 RPM. This i presume is where the egine is most efficient fuel economy wise. i want to lower my over all RPMs in an effort to increase fuel economy. I am currently running around 4500 RPM @ 70 MPH with an MPG of 41. Any thoughts or suggestions.

    There's none that I know of. There's no convenient way of re-gearing a 900. If you could adapt an XS-11 final drive you would get a large reduction (too much)

    Mine got 49 MPG until I made it a bit richer. What do your plugs look like?

    Okay well good to know about the transmission. I have not pulled the plugs in some time I might try to do so this weekend. So again thansk for the info.
