I have had many problems with my carbs and after cleaning, adjusting and so forth, I reinstalled them tonight onto the bike. I fire it up and after adjusting idles and mixtures and so forth, I decide to take it for a spin around the block----when I jumped on, I noticed all of a sudden the clutch cable has about an inch of slack in it. Ever since i have owned the bike, I have never made any big adjustments to the clutch.

My question is----Is the cable stretching and about to break? Or did something just happen to the bike that I need to investigate? Could the clutch be going bad?

I adjusted the slack out of the cable and went around the block with no problems. I just find it hard to believe that there is nothing wrong with so much slack. When I had the carbs off, I never messed with any routing of any of the cables.

    Any ideas?

If your clutch cable holder is like mine (a half circle with a nut on etiher side to hold it down) a good tug could pull it out of the holder...

looks like an elongated C facing inward toward the clutch cover. If those nuts weren't extremely tight, you could push it right outta there.
