Hi all! Ok, So my 81 XJ750 is making a knocking sound that sounds like its coming from somewhere down low on the bike (cant isolate the sound) but the hitch is that it only happens if I am accelerating. If I am in neutral or have the clutch pulled in I can rev the engine as high as i want and the bike sounds very healthy, but once its in gear and I start to get get between 2500 and 3500 rpm while still applying throttle the knock starts and wont let up until i let up on the throttle. Any Ideas? Thanks!

Sounds like a worn bearing in the carden shaft.
